RESEARCH – NITROGEN & PHOSPHORUS – WATERSHED MANAGEMENT
Activities of all land uses within watersheds impact the water quality of down gradient water bodies. Point and nonpoint sources of pollution in a watershed contribute nutrients to waterways. Watershed management encompasses all the research conducted at Land Grant Universities aimed at identifying sources and minimizing contaminants to a water body from its watershed. To learn more about watershed management research efforts to reduce nitrogen contamination, visit the watershed management research pages of the National Water Program Website.
