Graduate Student Paper Awards

A graduate student poster competition will be held at the 2008 CSREES National Water Conference in Reno, Nevada. Three awards (first, second and third place) will be presented to graduate students at the National Water Resource Conference. The awards will consist of recognition at a special student lunch held during the conference and an engraved plaque (sent to winners approximately six weeks after the conference). This award would be an important addition to a resume.

The submitted posters will be evaluated by a team of four judges using criteria developed at last year's annual meeting. This evaluation criteria will be posted on the conference web site by October 15, 2007.

Graduate students interested in submitting a poster to this competition should submit an abstract to the National Water Resource Conference by December 1, 2007 (poster abstract deadline) at the conference website. At the time you submit the abstract you should also send an email to joni_tanner@ncsu.edu and bmahler@uidaho.edu that indicates your entrance into the graduate student competition.

The poster requirements will be posted on the conference web site by September 30, 2007. Students submitting posters are requested to identify themselves at conference registration check-in. Oral presentations are not eligible for this competition. To be eligible for the graduate student poster competition, the student must be enrolled as a student at an academic institution in the current academic year (September - May) sometime between September 15, 2007 and May 1, 2008. Outstanding undergraduate students are also encouraged to submit posters to this competition.

2007 Graduate Student Paper Award recipients were: Jason Todd (UGA) and Paige Pucket (NCSU).
